The next meeting for our chapter will be held Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 7pm at Schlesinger's in New Windsor, NY.
Dr. Inderpal Singh will be speaking on Xarelto, a Factor Xa inhibitor used in placed of Coumadin for multiple uses, including reducing the risk of stroke and blood clots in people with atrial fibrillation (not caused by a heart valve problem), treating deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), as well as prophylaxis for DVT and PE for patients who have just had knee or hip replacement surgery.
