Christiana Care is recruiting for an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to work as part of the Trauma Program at both Christiana and Wilmington Hospitals. The selected candidate will perform advanced nursing practice in the care of trauma and surgical patients. The selected candidate will collaborate with trauma attending's and surgeons, neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, trauma hospitalists and a variety of other subspecialists in the care of trauma patients. Both the surgical management and medical management can be accomplished through utilization of approved protocols and procedures. The candidate will also facilitate Trauma Program initiatives related to verification and designation as a Level 1 Trauma Center which includes performance improvement initiatives, injury prevention efforts and teaching opportunities. In addition to day and evening shift hours, the candidate is required to assume on-call hours if needed, along with one winter and one summer holiday obligation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's Degree in Advance Practice Nursing
- Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Certification Preferred
- At minimum 3 years of experience in adult and/or pediatric critical care or emergency medicine
- Licensure or license eligible for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - Nurse Practitioner as set forth by the State of Delaware
- Prescriptive authority required in Delaware
- Certification in BCLS, ACLS
- TNCC preferred
