Hospice & Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell Website
The Nurse Practitioner works in collaboration with the Palliative Medicine Medical Director to provide palliative medicine consultative services to patients primarily in private homes, as well as other settings as needed by the PM program. The NP also provides on-call services as part of the organization’s hospice on-call services, including periodic weekend coverage. In a back-up capacity, assisting with hospice face-to-face encounters and rounding at the Hospice Home may be needed.
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for performing all duties in full compliance with all regulatory requirements including the North Carolina Nurse Practice Act and agency policies, procedures, and standards of care. The Nurse Practitioner will be credentialed by Alamance Regional Medical Center and must meet those credentialing requirements and maintain credentialed status throughout their tenure as Nurse Practitioner. In addition, achievement of palliative medicine certification is required within two years of beginning employment. Previous palliative care or hospice experience a plus.
