Position Description

Manchester CT – Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) – Physician Assistant (PA)

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a full-time APRN or PA for a primary care position serving patients of all ages.

This position is open to providers with at least one year of post-graduate practice experience and training to care for both children and adults.

The ideal candidate possesses:

Position details:

  • Full-time, weekdays only
  • No weekends
  • No-call
  • Support staff includes a highly trained M.A., RN team and behavioral health
  • Full-scope family primary care; acute, follow-up and chronic disease management

Advanced Practitioner (APP) Role Scope:

Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), performs routine physical examinations, and formulates medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patient. In consultation with the physician(s), develops plan for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists. Provides appropriate treatment for problems within scope of a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician assistant (PA) practice as designated by protocols. Identifies problems outside of APRN or PA scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program preferred
  • Unrestricted State of Connecticut medical license (or eligible)
  • At least one year of post-graduate practice experience and training to care for both children and adults

Regular Standard Hours Per Week: 40
