SIG 30 Open Board Positions & Scholarship- Elections Coming Up!

Denver, CO
The Colorado Society of Advanced Practice Nurses

Spring will be upon us before we know it... and that means SIG 30 Board of Directors elections!

Serving on the Board of Directors for SIG 30 is extremely rewarding. It is an excellent opportunity to represent an amazing group of professionals.

There are 3 open positions for members. The following is the title and description for each.

President: This is a three year term as president-elect, active president and finally, immediate past-president. The role of the president-elect is to learn the role and responsibilities before assuming the role of active president. President prepares agenda and leads the monthly board and dinner meetings. The role of the immediate past-president is to support the active president in his/her role and help orient new board members to their roles. The president attends all monthly board meetings, all monthly membership meetings and actively participate in activities of SIG 30.

Treasurer: Share monthly balance and expenses, submit taxes yearly to CNA, collect suggested donation at monthly meetings, make bank deposits, manage scholarship monies, assist with selection of candidates, submit yearly donation to CNA Foundation and other nursing groups, attend monthly board business meetings, participate and perform other duties as assigned to support growth and roles of APRNs.

Secretary: attend both the monthly Board of Director and membership dinner meetings, take minutes which are posted to ENP website, assist the treasurer with collection of donations at meetings, submit SIG 30 report to CNA for inclusion in the quarterly Colorado Nurse, and other duties as requested by the SIG 30 President.

As an incentive, a $500 scholarship to attend a conference is being offered to a CNA member who has a vision for leadership and is interested in running for a board position this upcoming election (Spring 2016). If you are interested in applying for this scholarship, please write out a paragraph highlighting your vision for leadership and how you may want to serve on the board as well as how you plan to use the scholarship. This is due December 30th.

Please email me if you are interested in running for a position and/or applying for this scholarship!
