The Florida Legislature has finally approved HB 423 that will allow advanced practice registered nurses and physician assistants to prescribe controlled substances. The measure, also known as The Barbara Lumpkin Bill, now goes to the desk of Gov. Rock Scott for signature.  A huge thank you to the sponsors of the bill, Representative Cary Pigman, M.D. and Representative Daphne Campbell, R.N  and to all of the supporters of Advanced Practice Providers in the state of Florida, for your help in bringing our practice in line with national standards.
