Candidate Forum
To ALL CAPPN Members and Followers,
Everyone, please attend the candidate forum being co-sponsored by CAPPN with MHAC. For more information, please refer to Andrew Romanoff's letter below and the attached flyer.
Heads or tails?
That's one way to approach an election. Here's another: Ask candidates about the issues that matter to you.
We're teaming up with a coalition of other nonpartisan organizations to do exactly that. For the first time (at least the first we can remember), we're hosting a series of candidate forums focused squarely on mental health.
These events -- all free and open to the public -- will take place in Lakewood on Sept. 20, Aurora on Sept. 22, Denver on Sept. 27, and Colorado Springs on Sept. 29. Learn more and RSVP to your respective link below.:
You'll have a chance to meet state House and Senate candidates and hear their views on policies regarding mental health and substance use disorders. We're pleased to sponsor this series in partnership with NAMI Colorado, the Colorado Providers Association, the Colorado Psychiatric Society, the Colorado Psychological Association, and Rocky Mountain Crisis Partners.
While we don't have the bandwidth to host such forums in every county, we are asking every state legislative candidate to fill out a questionnaire. We'll post their responses next week.
In the meantime, we invite you to review your legislators' votes on mental health policy. Check out our 2016 legislative scorecard, along with our public policy report.
Mental Health Colorado doesn't endorse political candidates, but we believe every candidate ought to endorse mental health. I hope you'll join us.
Sincerely,
Andrew Romanoff
