Greetings from the State Board of Nursing,

We are pleased to announce a stakeholder meeting to summarize and take comments on additions and amendments to Rules that govern advanced practice registered nurses (APRNS) and APRNs with prescriptive authority (RXN). Discussion will include APRN rules, qualifications for Provisional Prescriptive Authority and Full Prescriptive Authority, and educational requirements for Prescriptive Authority. Stakeholder input will be limited to discussion of the APRN and RXN rules, their impact, and suggestions for modification. This will be the first of two stakeholder meetings. The second will be held on October 19, 2016. Information regarding the second meeting will be available at a later date.

Stakeholder input is crucial to achieving the Department's missions of consumer protection and effective licensure and enforcement, without unnecessary impediment to the economic market. We invite you to share your thoughts and recommendations as we begin the process of evaluating the current rules. We hope you can join us.

Meeting Format

Attendees may provide comments, concerns, and proposals to the program in writing or in person or via webinar at the meeting. Participants will be able to discuss topics brought forward during the meeting. Program staff will moderate the discussion to better ensure that there is an equitable opportunity to actively participate for all stakeholders wishing to do so, and to ensure that comments and suggested changes are collected for the Board's consideration and future rulemaking.
