*****CANCELLED***** Your Voice Matters 10-25-16
Hello Friends,
I am sending out this notice for a town hall meeting I will be speaking at and being co- hosted by North East Kansas NP Alliance and Greater KC Chapter of NAPNAP in conjunction with KAPN. We have been watching closely for several months now movement at the Capitol in Topeka to suggest that the legislators are researching the potential for combining the Board of Nursing and the Board of Healing Arts. An actual committee has now been assigned and will begin their research to determine the benefits of this proposal. The Kansas Board of Nursing has efficiently and effectively managed the nurses and advance practice nurses in Kansas for 100 years. Currently, only five states in the country have nursing boards governed by boards of medicine and they have been this way for greater than twenty years. Each of these states are actively, year after year, trying to move legislation forward to change this status. It takes each of us to ensure that Kansas does not move backwards in the contributions recognized by our nurses, nurse practitioners and our Board of Nursing. Please come and learn more about the current legislative issues potentially threatening ALL nurses in Kansas and how you can get involved.
Refreshments will be served. Registration is required as space is limited. Please rsvp to Tracy Clark at tracy.clark63@yahoo.com
CEU (1) is available for nominal fee (Free for KAPN member, 20.00 non-member) and sign the roster, attend the entire program, complete and submit an activity evaluation, collect a Certificate of Successful Completion at the completion of the program.
