**CALL TO ACTION** Legislative crisis!
This is our first "Call to action" of the 2017 legislative session! In the coming weeks things are going to get hotter in Talahassee, and I am not talking about the weather!
We need our "NP Voice" to be strong this week! Dana Young (R) Tampa, district 20, the president of the Senate Health Policy Committe is REFUSING to add any of our NP bills to the agenda so that the senate can review and vote on them!. Right now she is blocking SB96 which passed through the house last week with overwhelming support!! This bill would allow ARNPs to serve as a medical director, baker act patients, and also calls for signature authority so that an NP signature would be accepted anywhere a physicians signature currently is!
PLEASE HELP!!! We need to show Mrs. Young that ARNPs are here to take care of Florida, and we will not be bullied out of our practice! We are asking that you email and/or tweet her at least 3 times PER DAY! Encouraging her to AGENDA SB96 so that the senate can review and vote on it just like the house did! The house recognizes our contribution to healthcare, and so does much of the senate... Dana apparently is not one of those people who sees it. HELP her see it!?
EMAIL- young.dana@flsenate.gov
Email her 3 or more times PER DAY! using the subject line “Agenda SB96!” and in the body of the email just remind her how important it is to support a robust healthcare team, remove barriers to care, and promote overall outcomes for citizens in Florida! Feel free to add your own spin on the body of the email.
Remind her that we will not stop emailing until we see SB96 added to the agenda! Send your email (if even just cut and paste the same one) at least 3 times per day!
