Breaking News: Protocol Bill Passes House and Senate
Today HB543/SB328 was sent to the Governor's office to sign! The bill changes the protocol requirement that ARNPs file their protocols with the BON within 30 days of signing. This bill replaces that procedure and once it becomes law, ARNPs will only need to keep a copy of their signed protocol/s on site.
This landmark piece of legislation, which was a year in the making, will eliminate any waiting time between the signing of the protocols and their activation. No longer will we have to wait for the BON to process, approve, and post them, nor will we have to renew them with the BON every 2 years.
Our sincere gratitude and appreciation go out to Sen. Denise Grimsley (sponsor of SB328) and Rep. Cary Pigman (sponsor of HB543) for their tireless efforts on our behalf.
A special thank you to FNPN Lobbyist Allison Carvajal for working non-stop with the legislature to help get this piece of legislation passed.
Another step toward Independent Practice!
