New York State Cessation Center Collaborative Conference Call......Get 1.0 AMA PRA CME credit!

The New York State Cessation Center is hosting a collaborative conference call on June 30, 2010 from noon- 1pm EST titled "How Child Health Providers Can Help Family Members Quit Tobacco Use." This call will be a valuable educational opportunity for Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, CASAC, Pharmacists and other Allied Health Personnel. The call will be presented by Jonathan Winickoff, MD, MPH, a practicing pediatrician and researcher at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Winickoff will provide concrete tools that can easily be introduced into a pediatric setting to address family tobacco use. This program has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for CME (ACCME) through joint sponsorship with the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and the NYS Tobacco Cessation Center Collaborative Statewide Conference Call Series. The University at Buffalo is accredited by the ACCME to sponsor CME for physicians. The UB School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1Credit(s) ™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

CASAC Clock Hours pending OASAS approval. Application has been made to the American Association for Respiratory Care(AARC) for continuing education contact hours for respiratory therapists.
