There are 30 million people in the world today that are slaves, 24 million are women and children and the average age of a modern day slave is 12 years old (2017, The Facts, Retrieved from http://www.freedomchallenge.com) Enslaved women and children struggle to live normal lives as some are forced to prostitute themselves. This is modern day human trafficking. This year, the Nurse Practitioner Council of Palm Beach County, will help free oppressed and enslaved women around the world by donating to the organization, Freedom Challenge.  As members, we will demonstrate our support to combating the injustices and setting pathways of freedom with a donation of 1500.00 to free 10 women or children.
