The 2018 General Session officially started today. About 800 bills will be presented in the next 45 days.

Some of the bills that could potentially affect NP practice include:

  • H.B. 25 -- Cannabinoid Product Board Membership Amendments (Rep. Daw, B.)
  • H.B. 127 -- Controlled Substance Database Act Amendments (Rep. Fawson, J.)
  • S.B. 68 -- Physician Assistant Vital Statistics Act Amendments (Sen. Bramble, C.)
  • H.B. 89 -- Health Facility Licensing Amendments (Rep. Albrecht, C.)

On February’s 9th, Day at the Capitol, representatives will present their bills and we will have the opportunity to speak to them directly. Cathy Harmston, our legislative chair, will also provide us a legislative update and bills for us to monitor. Afterwards, we encourage you to meet directly with your Representatives.

Hope to see you there!
