According to the lead author on the study, “hospitals saw more people showing up to hospitals without insurance — so Medicaid payments increased. The next article to share comes from the Texas Observer. The headline, which reads “If Rural Texans Want Decent Health Care, They Should Mosey to New Hampshire” caught my attention for obvious reasons. According to a report from Texas Tech’s Institute for Rural and Community Health, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Connecticut get top marks for access to rural doctors and a low uninsured rate.
