In November 2017 the WA State Nursing Quality Assurance Commission approved acupuncture as part of the Nurse Practitioner scope of practice using the same criteria (300 hours) as Medical Acupuncturist. To meet this educational requirement the Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine Institute LLC was created and is now accepting enrollees for the January 2019 class.
