Sacramento Valley Chapter Dissolution Update

Sacramento, CA
The Sacramento Valley Chapter of NAPNAP

Dear Sacramento Valley Chapter Members,

It is with great sadness that we inform you that our local chapter of NAPNAP will be dissolving on October 1, 2010. We do not have a full complement of board members, currently we do not have a president-elect, and therefore are out of compliance with our bylaws. National provided an additional 3 months to fill this position, but unfortunately after phone calls, e-mails and letters this position remains vacant.

Therefore, at our upcoming meeting on September 16th we will be voting to close the chapter. We have discussed the option of working with the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter to help us continue to support a half-day conference locally, but do not have complete information on this proposal at this time. Our treasury will be returned to national; however, we will be voting at the September meeting to continue our annual donation to Merryhill School for homeless children in Sacramento and a donation to the San Francisco Chapter in anticipation of there support for our local members as they are closest affiliate.

If you are not able to attend the Meeting we request that you vote via e-mail. Please send your vote to either co-president by 9/14/10:

Julie Langston – Julie_langston@sbcglobal.net

Julie Friesen – jewelspnp@sbcglobal.net

This is part of the formal process of closing the chapter per bylaws. If anyone has reconsidered and wishes to fill the president-elect position please contact either of the co-presidents.

Thank you all for your participation in the past. We will keep you updated on this process via e-mails and information can be found at our website:

Julie Friesen, PNP
