The Alabama Board of Medical Examiners has proposed an administrative rule that is an outrageous and radical assault on CRNA practice. It has implications for all CRNAs practicing in the state. We ask for your support in the ALANA’s efforts to defeat this proposed rule.

The proposed rule will prevent CRNAs from administering an epidural steroid block or an epidural blood patch and will effectively prohibit CRNA administration of any type of interventional pain management service. CRNAs deliver these services every day in Alabama and throughout the United States. If adopted, this rule will significantly decrease patients’ access to quality anesthesia care.
