Award Criteria

  • Demonstrates excellence as a nurse practitioner and as a role model for other nurse practitioners and the nursing profession in general.
  • Has made a significant contribution to the improvement of care for individuals, families and/or communities.
  • Recognized to practice as a nurse practitioner inTexas. 
  • *Active member of SPNPA for at least one year.

Award Considerations

  • Utilizes current research in practice
  • Involved with professional organization(s)
  • Volunteers in the community 
  • Precepts students 
  • Contributes to the profession through publishing articles, writing book chapters or written books and/or public speaking/presentations
  • Is creative in his/her approach to nursing care through effective communication and quality of care

Deadline for nomination:  October 26, 2018

  • Must submit a letter of support for nomination (please utilize the above criteria where applicable) by the due date
  • A CV or other letters of support for your nomination may also be submitted (by the due date)
  • All nominations should be addressed to the SPNPA Executive Committee (Secretary will receive nomination letters/documentation)
  • SPNPA officers will verify the nominees are eligible (must be active member of SPNPA for at least one year) and current with dues/certifications/membership.

Voting open: October 29 - October 31, 2018

  • Nominees will be presented to the membership by the executive committee via email. Members may only vote one time for one nominee.  All ballots (including email ballots) will be collected/verified by the Executive Committee to ensure accuracy.
