During a meeting with representatives of the Health Care Authority last week, we learned diabetic supplies, including syringes, needles, test strips, lancets and meters, fall under the pharmacy benefit, not the home health benefit for Medicaid patients. An NPI number needs to be included with the order, but ARNP orders should cover these specific items.
