Join our board or a committee--deadline March 14th
CTAPRNS is seeking members to run for board positions or to join committees. Board positions are elected by member vote before our annual conference, while committee positions do not require being elected and are a great way to learn about the organization and transition to a board position in the future. Below are the open positions, requirements, and a description of the role/relative time commitment.

President Elect/President
Must have 1 year of board or committee experience in past 3 years to run
2-year term as President, additional 1 year as President Elect and 1 year as Past President (4 years total commitment)
Very high commitment level
President is the director of the organization. Oversees organization strategy, annual conference, meetings, legislative efforts. Required to come to board meetings.
Education Chair
Must have 1 year of board or committee experience in past 3 years to run
2-year term
Very high commitment level
Education Chair is an executive board member that overesses the annual conference including all financial, content, and administrative elements. Required to come to board meetings.
Treasurer
Must have 1 year of board or committee experience in past 3 years to run
2-year term
High commitment level
Treasurer is an executive board member that manages the organizations finances including personally keeping accounting records and submitting taxes. Required to come to board meetings.
Health Policy Co-chairs (two positions)
Must have 1 year of board or committee experience in past 3 years to run
One position for a 2-year term, one position for a 1-year term
High commitment level
The Health Policy Co-chairs direct the organizations legislative efforts including working with our lobbyist, writing testimony, providing testimony at the Capitol, and speaking directly with legislators. Required to come to board meetings.
Retiree Chair
Moderate commitment level
Two-year term
Retiree chair oversees retiree issues and communications and is a member of the Board-at- Large. Required to come to board meetings.
Membership Chair
Moderate commitment level
Two-year term
Membership Chair works with the Web Chair to manage our internet footprint, track member statistics, and recruit new members. Member of the Board-at-Large. Required to come to board meetings.
Student Representative
Moderate commitment level
Term variable, up to 2 years
Student Representative is a current APRN student (Master’s or Doctoral) that oversees student issues, communications with colleges, and social media. Member of the Board-at-Large. Required to come to board meetings.
Health Policy Committee Member
Low to moderate commitment level
Health Policy Committee Members work with the Health Policy Co-chairs on legislative efforts, including writing and providing testimony. Not required to come to board meetings, but required to attend committee meetings, which are less frequent.
Education Committee Member
Low to moderate commitment level
Education Committee Members work with the Education Chair to plan and run our annual conference. Not required to come to board meetings, but required to attend committee meetings, which are less frequent.
Web Committee Member
Low to moderate commitment level
Web committee members work with the Web Chair to manage our internet footprint including our homepage. Not required to come to board meetings, but required to attend committee meetings, which are less frequent.
Other Committee Members
Low to moderate commitment level
