 Program Description:

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is characterized by both motor and nonmotor symptoms. It is diagnosed based on the presence of two of four motor symptoms including rest tremor, bradykinesia, rigidity, and gait imbalance. Nonmotor symptoms include autonomic, olfactory, or cognitive dysfunction, as well as neuropsychiatric symptoms, including psychosis with hallucinations and delusions. Symptoms of PD can be more severe in people whose disease onset occurs at an older age. This multidisciplinary activity will examine evidence-based recommendations for the diagnosis and management of the motor and neuropsychiatric signs and symptoms of PD in older adults.
