As the 11/30 expiration date quickly approaches, we have all become a little anxious to see that status change on our APRN licenses. Today we received a response from the Alaska Board of Nursing that should help alleviate those fears:

"In response to the surge in COVID cases and resultant volume of applications for licensure, the Board of Nursing voted at their meeting last week to adopt emergency regulations to allow the department to set a renewal date for RNs and APRNs instead of relying on the regulatory November 30 expiration. This week, we expect to have the licenses converted to a February 28, 2021, renewal and a notice sent emailed to all licensees and interested parties, as well as posted on our website."
