The New Mexico Department of Health has adopted permanent revisions to the regulations governing home health agencies that now authorize NPs to establish and review written plans of care and orders for home health patients. These changes are consistent with the recommendations made by AANP and the New Mexico NP Council in regulatory comments to the Department of Health. The new regulations took effect on November 10, 2020 and help align New Mexico with new federal guidelines enacted in March 2020 by the CARES Act.
