SB 79 - APRN FULL PRACTICE AUTHORITY BILL - SCHEDULED FOR HEARING ON THURSDAY, 1/26

Missouri
Association of Missouri Nurse Practitioners

SB 79, the comprehensive full practice authority bill filed by Sen. Nick Schroer has been scheduled for a hearing next Thursday, January 26th at 8:30AM.

This bill eliminates all barriers to practice and the requirement to have a permission slip from a collaborating physician and is the top priority for AMNP and other nursing groups in the 2023 legislative session.

Working with our coalition partners, we have put together a list of compelling witnesses that plan to testify in favor of the legislation. As a result, in person testimony will be very limited. However, we encourage anyone that is able to attend the hearing to lend your support. Additionally, we encourage you to submit written testimony in favor of the bill by using the Senate's Witness form or you are welcome to email your testimony to us at nursepractitioners@missourinp.org and we will submit the testimony on your behalf.

The early hearing on this bill is a HUGE step in the right direction and we invite you to join along with us as we fight to remove these onerous restrictions for Missouri's NPs.

If you plan to attend in person, feel free to reach out and let us know by email at nursepractitioners@missourinp.org

Hope to hear from ALL of you that support full practice.
