The creator of the Nurse Practitioner role, Dr. Loretta Ford, has passed at the age of 104 years. She was inspiring, a creator, a disruptor for healthcare change. Florida Nurse Practitioners have been blessed by the personal engagement and involvement she had with our local nurse practitioner organizations and our state organization, the  Florida Nurse Practitioner Network (FNPN). Dr. Ford inspired us with her presence at our FNPN conference yearly with her wisdom and wit. My most memorable quote to an interview question was, "I didn't think that we were involved in great change... but then change became the name of the game." Dr. Loretta Ford.  Our profession will truly miss this creator.
