Good News!  The Senate concurred on House amendments and SB 406 is headed to Governor Perry for his signature.  The Governor has 20 days to sign or veto the bill.  There is no reason to believe that Governor Perry will veto this bill. Once signed, SB 406 takes effect on November 1, 2013.  Congratulations to everyone who has been involved and made this happen.  This is a great step forward for APRN practice in Texas.  You all deserve a pat on the back.  But be sure, there is no time to sit back and relax.  We need to begin NOW in preparation for the 2015 legislative session.
