ORLANDO – A Delray Beach infectious-disease specialist accused of sexually abusing a patient was suspended from practice Saturday at a Florida Board of Medicine meeting.
Dr. Carlos Cohen, 52, asked the board not to take away his right to practice, saying he “repented” his actions and needs to support his family. But the board followed the recommendation of a hearing officer, John Van Laningham, for one year’s suspension followed by two years of probation.
