President’s Letter June 10, 2013

We would like to thank all of you who attended, and participated in our 20th Annual NP Conference at the University Sheraton this past Friday. We had our largest attendee participation ever, with close to 140 NPs attending! The speakers did a wonderful job, and it was our pleasure introducing the new Dean of Nursing from Upstate Medical University, Dr Sobel, to our organization during a great lunch time presentation by her. Our very own Helen O’Neill did a remarkable job of organizing this year’s event, making it a huge success…Thank you Helen!!

2. Teal There’s a Cure: Thursday, July 4th at 9 am

We will be breaking for the summer, having only one more Board meeting before resuming in the fall. Please keep abreast of the legislative agenda as put forth by the NPA, as updates come out on the Modernization Act which would give us more autonomy, as well as the Mental Health Bill, allowing Psychiatric NPs to admit their patients.

For now, HAVE A WONDERFUL, SAFE, WARM SUMMER!! WE WILL RE-CONVENE THIS FALL, Board Meetings are the first Tuesday of the month, and our Dinner Meetings are still the second Tuesday of the month. See you then!
