The NPA Brooklyn Queens Chapter

Dear Members:

Another year is drawing to a close in Albany and our NP Modernization Act has no chance of coming up for a vote this before they go on Summer hiatus.

So we are looking at 2014 for the year we end mandatory collaborative practice,

Remember- the midwives got their Bill Passed due to crisis- St. Vincents was closing and leaving many women without midwife providers.

We have no such crisis as yet and we need to  continue to make our voices heard , compromise and accept that this will get done but takes time, money, tact and perserverance.

Please VOTE for Politicians who are supportive of NP's and Nursing.

On a positive note our Fall Conference is going to be exciting- we have wonderful speakers and this year the Chapter Presidents or 1 leader is invited to a leadership Luncheon on Saturday.

Nominations for NP of the year and Student NP pf the year are due by August 1st 2013.

They get trip to the conference and nice plaque.

If you know of a deserving NP or  NP Student contact your President for details on how to nominate.

2014 we are Celebrating or 30th Anniversary and we have a truly exciting year planned.

We hope to see yoy this year 2013 in the Fall at Saratoga but if not keep 2014 in mind.

See you at the next Chapter meeting

Elaine Leinung DNP, FNP-BC
