New legislation for Schedule V Medications!

Washington
The Washington State Chapter of NAPNAP

While this won't apply to pediatrics, it is interesting none the less; Pharmacists will be able to dispense (aka sell) Schedule V mediations which includes liquid cough syrup with codiene as well as liquid antidiarrheal agents without a prescription.  They cannot sell to anyone under the age of 21 years, so that cuts out the pediatric population and there are rules about how much (in ml's) one can sell in a certain time period.  Per ARNP United Facebook site, this takes effect as of July 28, 2013.
