Thank you for all your messages to your legislators asking for co-sponsorship of a bill to update the Vital Statistics Law of 1953 to allow a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) to sign a death certificate for a patient under the care of that CRNP. This bill has now been introduced as House Bill 1744. I’m pleased to report we have over 50 co-sponsors. This bill, HB 1744, has been referred to the Health Committee in the House. Please help keep the momentum going by contacting your legislators to ask them to support HB 1744 and to request of the Chairman of the Committee, Representative Matt Baker (R-Bradford/Tioga), to report the bill out of committee.
