The Berks County Nurse Practitioners

It is that time of year again! Berks County Nurse Practitioner Group is in need of people to assume positions of leadership. The President and Vice President terms are completed at the end of the year. The current people in these positions have no desire to continue to remain in these positions next year. The continuation of the Berks County Group depends on others who are willing to donate their time.

The group has served as a resource for NP's in the area and served as a source for networking. Students and new grads have found locations to continue their learning or work through this wonderful organization. Through the years, we have offered a variety of continuing education topics that offered contact hours through AANP to asssit members in meeting their education and certification requirements. As a group, we have joined the Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. This has become a strong advisary serving as a resource, and a legislative force which has helped to change law in statuates as well as updating the State Board of Nursing rules and regulations. This relationship has enabled your ability to practice as an NP in PA to the fullest extent by law. A lobbyist and legal representative and executive director has been hired to keep track of barriers to practice as well as work on expanded scope issues. Their yearly conference has increased to 500 attendees and is offered at a discounted price to members. BCNP has developed a website to improve communication and networking.

This organization has been here for many.... I ask you, willl you be there for the organization? Please consider stepping into the challenge of a position of leadership.  The future of BCNP may depend on it. Your practice and profession may depend on it. BCNP depends on you!

For questions or more information, please contact one of the current officers ASAP.
