Subject: We need your voice! Implementation of the post-2010 RXN regulations

Dear Colorado Advanced Practice Nurse,

Effective July 2010, Colorado adopted a new process by which APN nurses can receive prescriptive (RXN) authority. There is an emerging dialogue among nursing leaders and state policymakers on how well these new regulations have worked for Colorado APNs, and their impact. The goal of this survey is to collect information about APN's experience with these new regulations; we need to move beyond anecdote.

Some individuals say that the new regulations have worked just fine, and others that say that there are serious shortcomings. We need more clarity, and you are the only person that can provide that! The quality of your response will determine how informed policymakers will be.

If you have had experience with these new regulations, we would very much appreciate you taking a few moments to fill this survey out. If you have not had experience with these new regulations but perhaps know someone who has, could you pass this survey to them? (We do not have access to APN emails, so this must be distributed by word-of-mouth. Help, please!)

Thanks very much!
