President's Letter
It's the end of March, spring has started (by dates), though you would not know it by our recent cold weather and snow. Sometimes, we just have to "keep plugging" to make it through our winters, difficult times, work or home. It's how we plug through that speaks a lot about us. Cursing and complaining, while it may feel better at the time, does not really help, and can be a poison to those around us. I've worked with people like this, and I've probably been this person, myself.
At the VA, there are computer monitors by the elevators (as a warning that the wait for an elevator will be long?!), and I love these. I keep writing them down, for inspiration. One is "You can't start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one." So, if you are unhappy with how part of your life is going, make plans, try to change things. I am not suggesting you quit your job unless you have something else lined up!
As for the weather, I say we should make ourselves more spring-like, by wearing brighter colors, being optimistic, and planning--it may not make a real spring come sooner, but it should lighten your heart (those in cardiology, please forgive me!).
I hope to see you at the April 8th meeting at Gentile's!
