S 3103 Passed the Assembly this afternoon and was sent to the Senate. S 5924, Advancing the Education of Professional Nurses, the companion bill in the Senate has been languishing in the Higher Education Committee, because the chair, Kenneth LaValle, is opposed. Inspite of considerable support from members on the committee, among them our chief sponsor John Flanagan, Sen. LaValle is holding the bill. It could be released to the floor if the leadership requests. Therefore the PRIORITY is to contact Senator Skelos and seek his support to bring the bill to the floor for a vote.
