Dear Fellow FNPN Members:

Several Florida NPs joined us at the AANP National Conference held at the Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tennessee this past week. There were over 5,600 attendees and Florida had a large delegation there! Welcome to all the new attendees and the student NPs! We want to thank our members who were able to attend and for being part of such a wonderful conference experience. It was a tremendous opportunity to network with an incredible group of nurse practitioners, hear great presentations and gain some excellent CE content. Many attended the private concert by Martina McBride for Musicians on Call, a charity bringing music to hospitalized patients and helping musicians volunteer. It was great. We also raised the most money ever for the AANP PAC at the diner and Grand Old Opry show so your voice will be heard louder in Congress this year.

Every year at the National Conference, AANP recognizes outstanding achievements by NPs and NP advocates by presenting the annual AANP State Award for Excellence and recognizing these individuals at the AANP National Conference. The State Award for Excellence recognizes an NP in each state who demonstrates excellence in clinical practice and recognizes the efforts of an individual who had made a significant contribution toward increasing the awareness and acceptance of NPs.

This year, the Florida AANP State Award for Excellence was awarded to: Cynthia Evans, ARNP from Tallahassee and the AANP State Advocate was Andrew Keller, ENP website founder and CEO. We are very proud of all you do! Join us in Naples October 2-5, 2014 at the AANP Specialty Conference too. Lots of workshops and programs you need. Next year annual conference is in New Orleans in June. Plan early and book promptly! It will be a sell out!
