Hello to everyone!

I wanted to take an opportunity to say thank you for being part of the Coachella Valley CANP. Much work has been done by Jeanne, Rocio, Ophelia and others to build our chapter. As the new president of our chapter, I would like to invite you to attend our dinners, held on the second Wednesday of every other month. Our next dinner is September 12th, topic and location TBA. If you have any suggestions for topics or a possible sponsor for a dinner, please forward it to me.

I am still finding interesting things within the website. For example, there is a section for potential CANP prospects, for first time or returning members. Many NPs just do not realize we exist here in the Coachella Valley, but with your help, we can get the message out there.

For those who cannot attend the dinners, your support of CANP has helped our profession make great progress, especially in terms of lobbying for laws that positively or negatively affect our practice. For those who are not current members, please encourage them to support NPs in our state by joining CANP. (Interestingly enough, NPs in California do not have nearly as much lobbying power when compared to physicians assistants, doctors, and even physical therapists). This is something we can change.

The new statewide CANP website will be what I use to send this messages and dinner announcements.  Make sure you are registered and receiving messages on the new CANP website.  I sent another message just prior to this one tonight, so if you didn;t recieve two messages from me, you may need to check with CANP to get your updated username and password.
