2009 FL NAPNAP Satisfaction/Salary Survey Results
Our Chapter wants to thank all of the NPs that participated in our recent NP Satisfaction/Salary Survey during October and November 2009.
We had a total of 44 responses!!
Of those 44 NPs, 81.8% were PNPs, 15.9% were FNPs, and one was an NNP.
Seventy percent of the participants work full time while the other 30% work either per diem or part time.
The majority of participants (45%) are from the Greater Orlando area. We also want to thank all of the Gulf Coast participants from the Tampa and St. Petersburg area (20%). There were also NPs in our survey from other coastal areas and North Florida (35%).
The majority of respondents have worked as an NP for greater than 10 years (47.7%). The next most common length of working years was 1 to 5 years (29.5%). Just over twenty percent (20.4%) have been working 6 to 10 years. And the smallest group was the 2.2% that have recently started as an NP and have worked for less than 1 year. Most of the data collected can be viewed in the graphs listed below. However, please keep in mind when looking at the salary graph that this includes all participants which represent both full time and part time NPs.
When referring to full time NPs only, 71% make greater than $75,000/yr, 48.5% make greater than $80,000/yr, and 13% make greater than $90,000/yr.
Employers that provide NPs with additional funds to help cover continuing education costs vary quite a bit. While 75% of NPs receive this compensation, the amount varies from anywhere between <$500 to >$1,500 per year.
Of all NPs working in a private practice setting, only 7% have been offered and/or participate in profit sharing/ownership with their employers.
