After an investigation of the procedure, the Alabama Board of Nursing has decided that the insertion of hormone pellets is not within the scope of practice for CRNPs or CNMs in the state of Alabama. The ABN has attempted to contact every CRNP and CNM who has received prior approval for the procedure, instructing them that this procedure can no longer be done by CRNPs or CNMs. If you have questions about the procedure please reply to this email or contact the Alabama Board of Nursing immediately.
