Happy Nurse Practitioner Week to all members of WA NAPNAP!!!  The first NP program was established in 1965 by Loretta Ford and Dr. Henry Silver in Denver, Colorado to provide primary care to the underserved.  They took the leap and we have all reaped the benefits of their foresight.  Washington State is a very progressive state in regards to NP practice with full independance and full prescriptive authority.  We are very lucky here in the Evergreen State; and I know all of us strive to provide the best care we can every day.
