Hello Friends,
Just in case someone may not have heard.......The Senate passed their version of the permanent repeal on SGR joining with the House last evening. This is huge!! This will have a positive impact for APRN's around the country and specially will help move our mission forward in Kansas and Missouri. H.R. 2, Medicare access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 will (via ANA and Facebook post from Stephan Ferrara: Nurse Practitioners for Full Practice Authority):
Include:
- ARNPs in the new Merit-Based Incentive Payment System
- Remove a barrier to practice in Medicare, allowing APRNS to order durable medical equipment and document face to face encounters
- Reauthorize CHIP for 2 years
- Provide 2 years of funding for community health centers
- Replaced flawed SGR formula for provider reimbursement with an improved payment system that reward quality, efficiency and innovation.
