Risk of myocardial infarction tied to time-updated HbA1C variables

U.K. researchers followed 101,799 patients with type 2 diabetes diagnosed with myocardial infarction between 1995 and 2011 and found an increase in MI risk for every 1% increase in HbA1C. The findings in Diabetes Care showed the MI risk was higher for updated latest HbA1C of 1.11 and updated mean HbA1C of 1.15, compared with baseline HbA1C of 1.05
