My mentors always taught me that an organization that does not mentor will never become successful. Furthermore, an effective leader never becomes complacent as he knows that he is only keeping the "seat warm" and holding his position for a very short time while mentoring others to take over when he steps down.

One of the best things of holding this position as state president has been to stand back and observe the richness and depth of talent that our members possess. I am often in awe and speechless over such encounters. Showing her strength, determination, and class like few others, I presented the 2015 UAPRN Leadership Award to Ms. Jill Nielson, a classy lady and top notch nursing leader as can be seen in this attachment.
