New state of legislation gives nurses more autonomy [DE]

"In addition to updating requirements for licensure and prescriptions, Senate Bill 57 modernizes the title of Advanced Practice Nurse to Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRNs). And Senate Bill 101 includes provisions regarding the scope of practice for APRNs as well as collaborative agreements with licensed physicians, podiatrists and health care delivery systems.
'This launches Delaware ahead as nurses around the state can now practice more independently,' said Hall-Long, who is a professor in UD's School of Nursing. 'Hopefully, this legislation will serve as a model for other states.'"
