Professional Achievements:

-Member of the AANP Nomination Committee 6/2022-6/2025.

-Member of the VA office of Nursing Service Mental Health Field Advisory Committee since March 2011- produced guide "Leading Psycho-educational groups: The Nurses' role", competency guide for MH nurses and Orientation guide for nurses new to Mental Health with competencies to go with it.

-Chief of the outpatient Behavioral Health Nurses from 2006-2021.

-Legislative Chair of the Nurse Practitioner Conference Group (now known as Nurse Practitioners of Idaho) from 6/1996 to 6/2004, 1/2010-12/2012, 2021-present. Actively involved in changing NP licensure to just the Board of Nursing instead of joint promulgation with the Board of Medicine as well as getting prescriptive authority for controlled substances for NP's and independent practice for NP's in Idaho.

-Chair of the Nurse Practitioners of Idaho Group (NPI) from 2/95-6/96 and Co-Chair from 7/94-1/95.

-Wrote, directed, and narrated a video about Nurse Practitioners in July 1996. This was disseminated to all 105 Idaho legislators in Dec. 1996 to educate them about Nurse Practitioners and their history in Idaho prior to upcoming legislation the next year.

-Chair of the Idaho Commission on Nursing and Nursing Education (ICNNE) from 6/99 to 6/01, Co-chair from 6/97-6/99 and 6/03-6/04. Produced a white paper on the multi-faceted nursing shortage. Chair of planning committee for ICNNE’s Robert Wood Johnson Colleagues in Caring Health Care Work Force Summit- held in Boise on 4-20-00.

2022-AANP award for NP advocate of the year for Idaho  

-2004 Federal Women’s Program Employee of the Year thru the Dept of Veteran Affairs.

-2004 Secretary’s Award of Excellence in Nursing for Advance Practice Nurses for the Boise VAMC and for the VISN 20 area (Oregon, Idaho, Washington and Alaska).
