Hennepin Healthcare's Trauma Services and Surgical Intensive Care Unit nurses are proud to host the 21st annual Trauma Conference, “Life at a Level I: The Trauma Critical Care Continuum.” This conference offers a multidisciplinary approach to the entire spectrum of trauma care, from pre-hospital interventions to advanced resuscitation and long-term critical care, emphasizing the coordinated expertise required to save lives. I completed a PGY1 residency at Hennepin Healthcare and am pursuing a PGY2 in critical care at Hennepin. I am passionate about helping others, giving back to the community, and providing the best care I can to my patients. I previously was an intern at the Minnesota Regional Poison Center and the inpatient pharmacy at Hennepin County Medical Center. I am extremely dedicated, inquisitive, and reliable. I work very well in teams and have gained communication skills, problem-solving skills, and collaboration skills through my work experiences and participation in various organizations. I graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy in May 2024.

Dr. Darrow specializes in functional and pain neurosurgery at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Darrow specializes in the treatment of functional diseases of the central nervous system including epilepsy, movement disorders, trigeminal neuralgia, chronic pain, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and psychiatric diseases. He has a co-PI lab with psychiatrist Dr. Alex Herman (www.hermandarrowlab.com) Through his research, he works directly with biomedical engineers to unify noninvasive and invasive forms of neuromodulation with validated, model-based approaches and control theory. Dr. Payne is board-certified in General Surgery with specialized fellowship training in Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. She is committed to continuous improvement of trauma care both at HCMC and statewide via her role as Assistant Trauma Medical Director. She also has a special interest in ECMO and is a member of HCMC's ECMO cannulation team. She has additional training and expertise in robotic surgery, especially for the treatment of hernias, colon cancer, and diverticular disease.
