    Policy and Advocacy for ARNPs

    1.0 CE Credit

    At the end of the presentation, participants will be able to:

    Objective 1. Understand state and national legislative activities impacting nurse practitioner practices and strategies to support those efforts.

    a. Demonstrate resources at the AANP Advocacy Center including sample letters to legislators and policy papers.

    b. Discuss alternate means of communicating with legislators regarding our scope of practice and the barriers to care imposed by regulatory restrictions.

    Objective 2. Learn of public relations activities expanding public understanding of the role of ARNPs and our scope of practice and social media options for networking.

    Objective 3. Participants will be updated on Washington State efforts to achieve parity reimbursement through the legislature and the Office of the Insurance Commissioner, including strategies to affect policy change.

    Objective 4. Participants will provide an update on clinical practice issues specific to their region in order to strategize efforts to support ARNP practice.
