Additional Information

Skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States, affecting more than 1 million Americans annually and accounting for at least 2% of all cancer deaths. Current estimates are that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer during the course of their lifetime. Melanoma, while only accounting for 5% of all skin cancer, is the most deadly form and is responsible for 75% of all deaths from skin cancer. This program will focus on key clinical topics in the management of melanoma and other cutaneous malignancies, including discussion of the epidemiology, prevention, and surgical treatment of skin cancers, as well as, a comprehensive American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) update on the current staging guidelines for melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.
