Position Description

Remote/ Telehealth Nurse Practitioner with a Michigan License

We are seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about helping people in their local Michigan communities.

  • Must be currently credentialed with BCBS Michigan and Aetna.
  • W2 contract/ Benefits available
  • Assignment Duration: May start - 3 months, with potential extension
  • Work Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM (flexibility required based on patient census)

Notes:

  • Preference for candidates with experience for a Health Plan

What You’ll Do

  • Function both independently and under physician supervision.
  • Provide care to adult patients in an outpatient setting.
  • Conduct routine physical exams and wellness visits.
  • Manage new and follow-up patients.
  • Manage chronic diseases.
  • Respond to patients' medical issues as needed.
  • Order necessary diagnostic tests and refer to specialists as needed.
  • Assess diagnostic test results and form treatment plans/strategies.
  • Discuss and explain treatments and medications thoroughly with patients, advising of all side effects and ensuring all allergy information is current before prescribing any medication or treatment.
  • Advise patients on lifestyle and diet changes to improve outcomes.
  • Address any other health issues that arise.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures and wound care.
  • Conduct screenings and vaccinations as per current guidelines.
  • Follow all departmental policies and procedures.

What You Bring

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN, DNP, or equivalent) from an accredited program.
  • Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in Michigan.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Passion for delivering care in rural America.
  • Experience working on a small, fast-paced team is a plus.
  • Experience working with connected devices/IoT is a plus.
  • Experience with medical or health data is a plus.
  • Experience with various EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner, Athena, etc.).
